Project/Client Spotlight
BCSC is excited to support D.R. Horton on the proposed 1095 Steel Bridge Road tract in Johnston County. The BCSC Engineering team is evaluating site and achievable density for a potential septic community with approximately 309 residential lots to be developed as a by-right community. We look forward to helping advance this promising project and supporting DR Horton’s continued growth in the region!
Land Survey Industry Updates
The surveying industry continues to embrace emerging technologies that improve accuracy, efficiency, and project delivery. From expanded use of UAVs and mobile LiDAR to advancements in GIS integration and reality capture, firms are leveraging innovative tools to provide clients with more detailed and reliable data. As infrastructure investment and development activity remain strong, surveyors play a critical role in supporting informed planning, design, and construction decisions across both public and private sectors.
Company Updates
Congratulations to our newest Certified Survey Technician (CST) recipients! We’re proud to recognize Matt Brown (Apex Survey Technician), Jeff Knowlton (Apex CAD Technician), and Travis Wicks (Wilmington CAD Technician) for successfully passing their CST Level 1 exams, as well as Isaac Purseglove (Apex CAD Technician) for earning his CST Level 3 certification. Congratulations to all on this outstanding accomplishment, we’re proud of your hard work and look forward to your continued success!

This month, we’re excited to recognize Daniel Gunn from our Wilmington office and Shelbey Sparrow Daniel, PE from our Apex office for their outstanding contributions to BCSC. As CAD Manager, Daniel consistently goes above and beyond, demonstrating exceptional leadership, a commitment to quality, and a dedication to seeing projects through to completion. His willingness to put in the extra effort helps ensure project success and outstanding client service. Shelbey has also earned recognition for her positive impact as a senior design mentor, providing guidance and support to team members while helping develop successful projects, including recent work in East Durham. Last month, BCSC's Director of Engineering Business Development, Timothy Grissinger, and Project Manager Kenric Barnes, PE, participated in the HBA of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties League of Builders Golf Tournament. Teaming up in friendly competition against Andrew Stewart and of Toll Brothers and Sam Duehring the event provided a great opportunity to connect with industry partners, strengthen relationships within the homebuilding community, and enjoy a day on the course. We’re proud to support organizations like the HBA that bring professionals together and help build stronger industry connections.
