September News from Bateman Civil Survey Company

As summer transitions into fall, we're continuing to build momentum across every aspect of our business. Our crews are advancing projects, supporting clients, and embracing new opportunities throughout the Southeast and beyond. Take a look at this month's highlights and join us in celebrating another productive month at BCSC.

Ennis Branch SUE Project

Project/Client Spotlight

BCSC recently supported Lennar Ennis Branch project by providing Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services to locate and verify existing sewer service lines throughout the development area. Using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), electromagnetic locating equipment, survey mapping, and targeted test holes, our team confirmed utility locations and elevations to ensure compatibility with the proposed building pad designs, helping reduce risk and support informed site development decisions.

Land Survey Industry Updates

The surveying industry continues to embrace emerging technologies, with drone-based mapping, LiDAR, AI-assisted data processing, and digital workflows helping firms deliver faster, more accurate results. Recent updates to the 2026 ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey Standards also reflect the growing role of these technologies, formally recognizing the use of tools such as drones and LiDAR while supporting greater efficiency and innovation across the profession.

Company Updates

Employee Spotlights

This month, we're recognizing Scott Stephenson, Houseline Crew Chief in our Apex office. Scott consistently gives 110% every day, approaching his work with a positive attitude and never a complaint. He takes pride in keeping houseline operations organized and under control across each community, ensuring a smooth transition for any surveyor who may work on those sites in the future. His dedication, reliability, and commitment to quality make him a valuable part of the BCSC team!

BCSC at the Driving Hope Charity Golf Event

Event Spotlight

August brought several opportunities for learning, networking, and community involvement! Our Engineering team participated in a Lunch & Learn with an environmental consultant, discussing permitting requirements and stream and wetland identification. James Sanderford, PE, Timothy Grissinger, and Troy Klungseth also represented BCSC at the Driving Hope Charity Golf Event hosted by JDS Consultants. Later in the month, Timothy Grissinger attended the Bisnow Charlotte Affordable Housing Conference to gain insights into the challenges and opportunities shaping affordable housing in the region.
