This month, we’re proud to recognize three teammates who continue to raise the bar across our company:
- Patrick McGuinn consistently goes above and beyond with every crew chief he supports. He’s an eager beaver in the field who can cut line with impressive skill and never hesitates to jump in where needed.
- Brandon Nelson regularly steps outside his role to keep operations running smoothly—answering field calls, resolving issues quickly, and helping crews stay productive and on track.
- Trelvon Thacker brings a positive attitude to every job, showing up with a smile and a willingness to tackle anything asked of him.
Their dedication, teamwork, and reliability make a real impact, and we’re grateful to have them on the BCSC team.
Event Spotlights
This past month, Sean Hein, PLS, PE, Kenric Barnes, PE, and Shelbey Sparrow Daniel, PE returned to NC State to meet the new group of engineering students they’ll be mentoring throughout the semester. We’re excited for another season of hands-on guidance and industry insight as these future professionals take their next steps.
Hosting Future Talent: Student Job Shadow Experience
BCSC recently welcomed Apex-Friendship High School Academy of Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing students for a job shadow experience, giving them an inside look at the surveying and geospatial industry.
During their visit, students observed project discussions, learned from our team about career paths, and saw our day-to-day operations in action. We were proud to support this career-readiness opportunity and help students explore what a future in this field can look like.

Industry Updates
ALTA and NSPS have jointly released the 2026 Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for Land Title Surveys, set to take effect February 23, 2026.
These updates introduce:
- Clearer documentation protocols
- Tighter precision standards
- Enhanced transparency between surveyors, title companies, and property owners
The goal is to reduce uncertainty in real estate transactions and reinforce the reliability of boundary, easement, and access data our clients rely on.
